Springbok Womenโ€™s flank Lamla Momoti was forced to withdraw from the teamโ€™s opening Womenโ€™s Rugby World Cup clash on Friday against Australia due to a knee injury.

ย

Momoti has been replaced in the starting XV by Rachelle Geldenhuys, who made her Test debut against France in July.

ย

The Test will be hosted at the French Rugby Federation in Marcoussis at 15h45 on Friday.

ย

Momoti suffered a knee injury at training on Thursday and had a late fitness test to give her sufficient time to recover from the injury, but despite this, she did not recover fully and had to be withdrawn from the squad.
